The VAS 523 005 incorporates STAR Diagnostic Smoke® Technology, inside. It is the simplest and quickest way to find many vehicle system leaks.  Smoke vapor-generating leak detectors containing STAR Technology inside are the only leak detectors in the world approved by automakers (OEMs) which meet all safety standards for EVAP testing as well as for other systems. The patented UltraTraceUV® solution which is a non-contaminating dye trace will not damage vehicle sensors, gaskets or seals and will not void factory warranties. The VAS 523 005 is easy to use just connect shop air to the patented Nitrogen Generator Handle, 12V power and you are ready to perform EVAP diagnostic leak testing. Purchase the optional VW specific adapters Manifold: (ASE 523 006 80 D00), 12mm (ASE 523 006 80 E00), 10mm (ASE 523 006 80 F00), 8mm (ASE 523 006 80 G00), DM-TL Plug (ASE 523 006 80 H00) and Wing Nut Expansion Plug to perform EVAP leak detection on all VW vehicles.

Techs will decrease diagnosis time and more efficiently complete repairs when using the VAS 523 005. An important part of diagnosis is verification. When a Tech can see leakage exists when performing a leak-down test using the flow meter and/or pressure gauge a leak can quickly be located with smoke and/or non-contaminating UV dye. Complete the repair by verifying repair performing a leak-down test using the flow meter and/or pressure gauge.
