To avoid unintentional release of the side airbags during work on and around the driver, front passenger and rear seats, the ignition lead of the respective side airbag module must be earthed to its housing for reasons of safety.
This is done on the Audi A8 with airbag adapter VAS 5068.
(Airbag adapter VAS 5094 is required for all other vehicles)
Warning
An adapter is required for each side airbag!
Use of the airbag adapter is described in the relevant workshop manual.
