The new angle adapter protects older diagnostic testers against damage to the rugged USB port. The adapter functions as an intermediate adapter between the rugged USB connector of the USB module of the remote diagnosis head VAS 6154(A) and the rugged USB port of the VAS 6150C/D/E and the VAS 6160B/C/E. 
The new adapter is plugged in between the USB port of the diagnostic device and rugged USB connector of the USB cable VAS 6154/4A and then remains permanently in the device. The connection between the rugged USB port of the diagnostic tester and the USB cable VAS 6154/4A can consequently only connect using both hands. This is intended to ensure that a "blind" insertion of the connector into the port in the diagnostic device is no longer possible and consequently that damage to the pins can be largely avoided. … it avoids damage. Previously the rugged USB connector of the remote diagnosis head VAS 6154(A) was plugged directly into the rugged USB port of the diagnostic tester. When inserting with one hand, there kept being distortions of individual pins in the connector or damage to the integrated half shell guide. The damage to the port was frequently not detected immediately by the user. If the USB cable VAS 6154/4A is plugged "blind" into a port damaged in this way, the rugged USB connector of the diagnostic interface can be damaged as a result, e.g. in the form of bent or broken off/falling out pins (see example 1).
… it allows safe handling. Angle adapter is flexible, on both ends with strain relief, cable protection and a marking (red point) for the correct insertion direction
… it saves money, as ACTIA I+ME GmbH offers no warranty for twisted or broken off contacts in the rugged USB connector of the VAS 6154/4A. With a small investment in the adapter, companies can thus protect themselves against repair costs.
